"The physicians highest calling, his only calling, is to make sick people healthy - to heal as it is term"ed" - Dr Samuel Hahnemann -
What is homeopathy?
Homeopathy is a natural form of medicine used by over 200 million people worldwide to treat both acute and chronic conditions. It is based on the principle of ‘like cures like’. In other words, a substance taken in small amounts will cure the same symptoms it causes if it were taken in large amounts.
The holistic nature of homeopathy means each person is treated as a unique individual and their body, mind, spirit and emotions are all considered in the management and prevention of disease. Taking all these factors into account a homeopath will select the most appropriate medicine based on the individual’s specific symptoms and personal level of health to stimulate their own healing ability.
Homeopathic medicines are safe to use as they rarely cause side-effects. This means when used appropriately under the guidance of a qualified homeopath they can be taken by people of all ages, including babies, children and pregnant or breastfeeding women.

What to expect?
Everyone is unique and no one person expreses there dis-ease in the same way. As well as asking about your symptoms, a homeopath will be interested in you as an individual and the unique way in which your symptoms affect you. History taking, examination and investigation are all important to establishing the correct perscription.
Questions about your lifestyle, eating habits and preferences, temperament, personality, sleep patterns and medical history help to form a complete picture of you. This picture helps us to match the sytpoms you are presenting with to specific remedies which can help you.
As a guide your first appointment could take anything up to 1 hour, with follow-up appointments typically lasting 30 minutes.
To get the most out of a consultation, it is helpful to make some notes beforehand and to think through all the issues that are affecting your health.
At the end of the consultation your homeopath will give you a prescription and advise you how often to take the homeopathic medicine. Homeopathy can be given in sucrose or lactose pills, or liquid, if you have a preferance please let your practitioner know beforehand.

Homeopathic Potancy and Succussion
"Less is more"
There is a common misconception that Homeopathic remedies are Herbal medicines. Homeoapthic remedies are derived from the plant, chemical, animal and mineral kingdoms. They can even be made from sound frequences.
Homeopathic medication is 'succussed' and 'diluted' to which after reaching a certain potency the original substance is no longer present. After this stage they become an 'energetic medicine' something which science is just begining to research.
Through the process of dilution and succussion this imparts a pattern to the molecule which represents the original material. The more the substance is potantised, the more coherent and intensified the pattern becomes. Examples of this can be seen in the work of Dr Masaru Emoto in his experiment exploring the molecular structure of water.
We can understand from the chemical/material standpoint the more you dilute a substance the weaker it becomes. This is where the paradox begins when we have observed homeopathic medicines to work in the opposite way. The more we dilute and sucuss the original substance the stronger action the remedy will have on the individual taking it.
It has been observed that the lower the potancy given the more physical action it will have. The higher potancies will act more on the mental/emotional spheres of consciousness as well as the physical and they will last for a longer period of time.
Lower potancies have been shown to burn out quickly which enables you to take them more frequently. Higher potancies such as a 200c could be taken more frequently in an acute (cough, cold, injury) because we are using up the remedy quickly. Taking a 200c remedy without an acute illness will be taken less frequently because the energy of the remedy can last longer.
Examples of Potancy
1 in 10 dilution (X potancy - ie. 6x, 12x)
1 in 100 dilution (C potancy - ie. 30c, 200c)
1 in 1000 dilution (1M)
1 in 10.000 dilution (10M potancy)
Highest potancies are 50M and CM diluted and sucussed 50,000 and 100,000 times over.
LM Potancy: 50 Millesimal potancies (1:50,000)
